Political Awareness & Involvement
Voter Deputy Registrar Training
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has been a political player since its inception. The Founders first service project was participation in the Women’s Suffrage March of 1913. The sorority and the Bay Area Houston Alumnae chapter continue the political development and involvement goals of our Illustrious 22.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is a non-partisan organization but believes very strongly in full participation of the political process. BAHA encourages its members to become deputized and the Social Action committee has registered hundreds of voters and provides citizens with critical information about eligibility, polling locations, and early voting.
The Social Action committee also takes an active interest in smaller political arenas such as city council and school boards. Members also participate in local civic observances, memorials, and press conferences.
If you would like to contact the Social Action Chair, please send an email to socialaction@bahadeltas.org.
