Physical & Mental Health
As a sorority comprised predominately of African American women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., encourages its members to promote a healthy lifestyle and the Bay Area Houston Alumnae chapter focuses on areas that impact Black women most: breast cancer and heart disease.
The chapter partners with the Houston chapter of Sisters Network, an organization that provides free mammograms and counseling services to women. BAHA participates in the organization’s annual STOP THE SILENCE WALK, raising awareness and raising funds to donate to the organization’s noble cause.
Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta sure do look good in red! So supporting the annual GO RED FOR WOMEN campaign is expected! The Physical and Mental Health committee supports awareness by hosting community and chapter events for blood pressure screening and active lifestyles that promote heart health.
