BAHA History

For many years, there was ongoing discussion of chartering a new chapter in the southeast region of Houston, TX. In 2004, several sorors decided to take the initiative and turn those discussions into reality. In November of 2004, fifty sorors committed to this new endeavor and a charter package was submitted to Headquarters.

On February 26, 2005 the Regional Director, Soror Marvette Thomas assisted by Soror Mae Francis Rowlett, performed the chartering ceremony and the Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter became the 972nd chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

From that day forward, the members of the Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter have dedicated themselves to servicing the following Houston areas: Clear Lake, Friendswood, Webster, Seabrook, Pearland and Pasadena.
